Chandra Dew is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor who has over 20 years experience in the counseling field. Chandra has degrees in both Christian Counseling and Professional Counseling and has a desire to help others to complete their journey in becoming licensed counselors.

We are privileged to announce that our owner and Licensed Professional Counselor, Chandra Dew, is now a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor.

Practicum

Community Care Counseling can serve as a site for any students who are pursuing degrees in Professional Counseling that require a practicum. The practicum is a student’s first placement experience, students must complete 100 total hours at the placement site usually within one term. The school generally sets the requirements for direct client contact hours. These placements are typically non-paid positions in which the student is required to be supervised by a licensed mental health practitioner. Internships

Internship is a usually a student’s second placement experience. Students must complete 600 total hours at the placement site, 240 of which must be in direct service with clients. The duration of the internship is determined by the school. The completion of a 600 hour internship as part of your Master’s degree program is necessary to become a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC). Supervision

Supervision is provided for Licensed Associate Professional Counselors by Chandra Dew, MA, LPC, CPCS, and is necessary to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Supervision is the post-master’s experience under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor that is required by the state of Georgia to be able to obtain a license to practice as a Professional Counselor.
